Five MSU Turfrgass students dominated the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) scholars program, by competing for and winning five of the available 13 scholarships.

The top awardees were  John S. Parvin receiving a $6,000 scholarship, with Fernando Expòsito Muñoz taking second place with a $5,000 scholarship.

Other awardees included: Paul M. Jacobs III ($1,500) , Thomas Jacobs ($750) and Jacob S. Fawaz ($500).

The next most successful turf management programs had only two students who were awarded scholarships.

Selection criteria for the GCSAA scholarships include:  academic achievement, potential to become a leading professional, employment history, extracurricular activities, and recommendations from a current academic advisor and a superintendent with whom the student has worked.

Congratulations Awardees.
